I miss playing RTS games.
It's just about MOBAs now, and I don't care for DOTA or similar games. I remember when I could lead my forces freely, making decisions on the fly. The idea of building bases and producing units feels outdated. These modern RTS games seem to chase trends like a meme, copying what's popular instead of creating something original.
I'm with you on this. There should be more fresh RTS titles coming out. If you haven't explored them yet, give "Sins of a Solar Empire" a shot. I've really liked it so far.
I’ve had positive interactions with EA’s support team. I followed the same process for Command & Conquer, Battlefield 2, and Battlefield 2142. They included every expansion automatically, even when I didn’t request it or had them on my account.
I only shared one program and he replied "that's all the command and conquer games." I just said okay. They even installed C&C 4, but it wasn't in my Origin—it wasn’t listed there. I thought maybe they didn’t care about these old titles, since they aren’t on Origin, and you can actually get BF2 for free.
Origin delivers outstanding support. I’d purchase every title from them if they offered the same variety Steam provides. There was a weekend problem involving a department that closed weekends, and the representative stepped in with my manager to resolve it quickly—so I didn’t have to wait until weekdays. To be clear, a user on Reddit requested additional trial hours for BF4, and they granted roughly 7,000 hours.
Planetary Annihilation leans too much on cartoony visuals and restricts turtle players. In team battles against AI, we can move slowly but eventually lose momentum before winning. Total Annihilation remains my top choice for RTS, while RA2 is just behind it.
