Someone is asking if this update affects all metro features and restores the original start menu on Windows 7. They mention owning a legitimate Windows 7 copy and suspect it removes everything except the original interface.
It's because it's free with Windows 7 installation or existing files, offering the genuine version. A third-party option wouldn't be superior in this case.
I prefer Classic Start since it offers more tools than Start is Back and is completely free. You can disable the charms bars and avoid Metro altogether. I've been using Windows 8 for more than six months, mostly encountering Metro 2-3 times because of an incident.
