I’ve saved all your bookmarks using Firefox. There’s also an option to preserve your profile, ensuring everything transfers correctly after reinstalling. The process is simple and Firefox provides clear guidance. I’m not sure how it works in other browsers.

If it isn't a virus, what could be behind these drive issues on C? I searched online but Google didn’t grasp the situation I’m facing. I planned to finish the video and then use a restore point, but it kept crashing again. I tried rebooting and restoring. It’s said the problem is fixed now, so I’ll attempt a restore again. Next, I’ll reinstall the browser, aiming to find as many backups as possible before giving up.

I worked on the task schedule yesterday following this restore point, which made me hesitant to rely on it. Still, I believe setting up a daily restore point would be beneficial. There should be a method to schedule that task within the task scheduler.

I understand your question. Are you referring to Symantec Endpoint Protection, or is this another tool? Also, what functions does Ghostery perform?

Reject the proposal and opt for a bulk purchase of Malwarebytes. It works well for PCs, phones, etc., and offers excellent protection. Supporting them makes sense.

If Windows Defender isn't sufficient, consider Sophos as a solid third-party antivirus option. It offers free use, minimal interference, and matches the definitions and technology of their paid version.

I’m okay with defender. After losing all McAfee traces once the free trial ended, I haven’t used any of that software since. At that time, malwarebytes was recommended. They let you try the full version during the trial, but it didn’t detect anything, so I removed it. My webshield came with total adblock and it also failed to work. Right now I can’t afford software, so I’ll go with your first suggestion. Unless malwarebytes was the main point you were referring to.

Your initial concept centered around the Malwarebytes free trial, while semantic ideas were someone else's contribution.

X670e, 7950x, 64gb 6400mhz, 4080. If you need details, just let me know. I’m using Edge on this machine now. I might have resolved the issue with a restore point. The screen hasn’t been flashing much yet, so we’ll see how it goes. By the way, while trying to get full control over my GPU fans, I entered safe mode and ran a DDU, wiping everything for my 4080. After restarting, I checked Device Manager and found it working. Plugged it back in and video appeared. DDU confirmed everything was fine. I swear I’m relieved. I’ve faced some problems with this system before. I miss when computers just followed commands without trouble. I know I’ll have to accept some compromises, but I want my 98 back.

Oh no, I messed up again by forgetting to pay attention to the names on the side. Sorry about that. I hope Malwarebytes is doing its job correctly and I didn’t get infected. The disk errors are still a mystery to me.
