I put a web browser on my fresh Linux Mint setup, but I can’t locate it—it shows as installed but not visible.

What method were used for installation? You might have to add it manually to the menu if it wasn’t managed by the package manager. Certain applications don’t support this automatically.

I didn't download a browser myself, but I can help check compatibility if you tell me which browser you're using and your Mint version.

When you saved it via terminal or Mint’s app store, it should work like looking up its name on your start menu and opening it. Avoid downloading from Brave’s site and installing the Windows version—it’s a common error. This doesn’t harm your system, but it can lead to a confusing or broken experience if it doesn’t launch at all.

For ease, install the Flatpak version of Brave from https://flathub.org/apps/com.brave.Browser. It’s unlikely to be found in standard repositories, so downloading as a Flatpak or Snap is recommended.

Talking about this, is there anyone who knows how to set up a proxy for the Flatpak version? Adding --http-proxy=ip:port at the end of the desktop link doesn’t seem to work.
