I relocated from India to the USA. My Steam account from India includes games such as CSGO, AoE 2 HD, AoE 3, AoM, Cities Skylines and Factorio. I have payment methods from both locations, making it unlikely I’ll lose any of them. I reside permanently in the USA now.

I’m considering whether to stay in my current region after a year or switch. My choices are:
- Retain the Indian Steam account and open a new one for the US.
- Discontinue the Indian Steam account and create a new one for the US.
- Modify the region of the Indian Steam account.

My reasons for keeping the Indian Steam account or changing the region include:
- Affordable games – I can manage costs here in the US.
- Maintaining my reputation – I’ve used Steam for over five years and played CSGO for 1,700 hours.
- Discounts – AoE 2 DE is launching this fall with about a $5 discount for those who already own AoE 2 HD.

These factors aren’t decisive for me, as I’m comfortable losing some benefits.

On the other hand, creating a new US account has its own justifications:
- Tax considerations – Steam may request tax info if you sell items over a certain amount.
- Content availability – Some games are exclusive to the US, while others debut there first.
- Alignment with local preferences – I’d prefer to be part of my community and benefit from better sales and access.

I’m unsure about the exact rules but value keeping things organized. If I choose option 2, I have no idea what to do with my Indian account.

I welcome your thoughts and feel free to mention anything else you think is relevant.

But if it's feasible, why not adjust the region to keep the same account going?
