I just bought some RAM.
I bought a new PC six months ago with only 8GB of RAM, and I’m thinking about an upgrade. Is the 16GB RAM you’re considering suitable? Kingston FURY 16Gb 2666, CL16 DDR4? I have a Ryzen 3 3300X and an 1650 GPU. Should I keep the existing 8GB module or just add this 16GB? I understand performance will depend on the slowest component, and pairing won’t happen, but 24GB is definitely better than just one 16GB module... yes?
Zen 2's memory controller works well at 3200MHz... what's the speed of your current RAM?
8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX at 3200MHz (single 8GB module) compatible with ASUS PRIME A320M-K
Are you swapping the current RAM for a different one or retaining the existing one? (Decision about old vs new) Edited November 13, 2021 by ViruzMage
Just FYI, on this forum quoting someone gives them a notification that you replied to them. I don't see an issue if you're not concerned with speed, nor with the module itself.
