I just upgraded my PC but didn’t have enough money for a new SSD, so I used my old HDD. When I put it together, right after turning it on... it started up fine, but the motherboard didn’t appear in the boot menu. Since everything worked normally, I didn’t pay much attention. However, while playing PUBG, I’m experiencing FPS drops and crashes. Could it be because I didn’t install the correct motherboard driver at assembly? Or is my HDD outdated? My RAM is only 8GB. I don’t know what’s causing the issues. Here are my PC specs: Ryzen 5 2600 GIGABYTE 1050ti Dual Fan GIGABYTE B450M - DS3H Kingston HyperX Single stick 8gb RAM 2666mhz Corsair CV series CV550 80+ bronze PSU Tecware Nexus M mid tower case Western Digital HDD - 1 TB. Ehhhh I mean technically yes but in the real world no The difference between dual and quad interms of the bandwidth is very little And unless your using every bit of that bandwidth so like in reading and writing large consistent files that will be more or less a waste of money and it will be harder on the imc and on the interconnect and future upgradability will be non existing because all 4 slots will be occupied
I didn't reinstall Windows, just started from the old HDD. I haven't had a smooth experience swapping CPUs on a different architecture without updating Windows.
What you say is accurate regarding the IMC. Some boards might find it challenging with quick 4x4 sticks, but once everything is set, tests confirm it offers an edge. From a gaming perspective, 16GB of RAM is future-proof compared to next-gen consoles. UwU—workstation fans, go for a 4x8 if you can!
4x4 presents greater challenges on the imc compared to 2x4, even with a ttop motherboard. For instance, I was able to upgrade my SK Hynix 3200CL16 RAM from 3600MHz to 3600MHz using just two DIMMs, whereas with four DIMMs it would only reach 3466MHz. This clearly illustrates the issue, though it remains dual-channel and depends more on the RAM chip setups. On mainstream systems, 4x4 still supports dual-channel.
