Laptop model:
2023 Asus ROG Zephyrus G16
I've been using it daily for about a year and a half, mostly plugged in with balanced mode. I never changed the power settings. This morning I saw the battery light change from white to orange, and the battery is at 99%. It says the charge time remaining is about five minutes now. I'm unsure if this is normal or if something is wrong. I read on Asus that it won't restart until it reaches 94%, but I don’t want to unplug just to check. Maybe I should turn it off? I haven’t tried any other solutions except hoping it’s just old age. I really don’t want to see an orange light, especially since I’ve never used it in battery mode. Is this typical wear and tear or should I start looking for a new one? I’ve never unplugged it before. Thanks.

You may realize that the battery must be discharged and then charged in that sequence to maintain its health. If you keep leaving it unused without setting a maximum charge, you might end up needing to replace it earlier than expected.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this. I think I should always use Optimus, but I might switch to battery power when I'm not playing, since it's still connected to the Ethernet.
