I have never overclocked my GPU.
Hi,
How long have you ever overclocked your GPU for Mining? And which GPU are you using?
i'm using 6 x 1050ti rigs for ethereum mining but today morning my psu got damaged/burned. i don't know the exact cause, but i think it was because of overclocking from nearly 25 days ago (even if it's stable). there was a voltage increase in the gpu processor, which then affected the power adapter, and eventually reached the motherboard pcie slot, causing the psu to melt. the 3a fuse on the ups also went out. i might be wrong, but i don't see any other reason for this. i'm worried now, i'm unsure if continuous overclocking is safe for my system. i'm currently running the machine at stock settings for long-term use.
Typically you don't boost your GPU's speed for mining, as it raises power use and reduces earnings. I'm not a miner, but having six GPUs on a single PSU is quite demanding, whether or not you overclock them. Perhaps you could try an experiment like this:
Run the system under load and observe the impact on hashrates. If your performance isn't harmed, it means you're saving on electricity costs and boosting profits.
i have linked two 550W power supplies, each on this setup, my goal isn't to maximize hashrate but to ensure the system runs smoothly without any visible hardware issues or software glitches.
I'm not a miner, but isn't the aim to boost the hashrate so you can earn more rewards? By physical mistake, do you mean the actual parts of the PC failing? As far as software issues are concerned, my understanding of mining has been surpassed, but I could assist you in looking into the errors if you provide more information. I don't get it, if you didn't want to raise your hashrate, why did you start overclocking originally?
