I faced a Wi-Fi issue, so I started running some modded Minecraft. The mods included: Texture Pack – Laacis2’s Natural 2048x2048 Shader; Sonic Ether’s Unbelievable Shaders Ultra PC Specs – 980 Ti, i5 6600K @4.5ghz, 16GB DDR4. I tried it at 1440p. The screenshots (compressed) show the texture pack didn’t cover everything, making base game textures appear artificial or intentionally stylized. Resource usage was high, and sometimes the game would crash because RAM was nearly full. I set aside 14GB of RAM for this purpose.
I don't spend a lot of time on it, but you can really take your time with it.
On the base game I'd get 1K FPS, but with these mods it's around maybe 100 with drops to like 6 FPS in places with tons of lighting. There is also stutting due to things loading etc.
Occasionally, when we team up with friends, I really enjoy exploring modpacks—especially FTB ones—and playing around with the machines. But I’m not sure I’d feel the same enjoying it by myself.
I just used single-player mode to capture these images. The last time I really played it in full single-player was probably a long time ago.
