I accidentally dropped a tiny bit of soda on my PC's top corner because it was so small, so I used compressed air to blow it away before it could drip and break things. It sounds crazy, but that's how it felt at the time. Nothing seemed different or broken until my computer told me there was an unknown USB device and asked me to unplug and reconnect it all four times. When I did that and restarted my PC, a message kept popping up. All four devices are working fine, so why is this happening? I tried troubleshooting both of them, removed and reinstalling them, but nothing fixed the problem. There was some soda left in those two ports, but I took it all out. At minimum, I'd really like to know how to stop these annoying notifications from showing up again.
If you actually fried the cases, plug in the USB's, open their holes, and cut the wires from the motherboard to them. Just turn off the power, unplug it from the wall. Hold down the power button for 20 seconds to drain all electricity out of the supply. Then find those wires and unplug them completely. Restart your computer and see if that error message goes away. Later you could try cleaning those USB's with contact cleaner spray and test them out later on.
