Greetings to all. I recently assembled a second personal computer approximately two months ago, and it has been performing satisfactorily so far. Here are the specifications:

CPU - AMD Ryzen R5 3600
Motherboard – MSI B450 carbon gaming pro ac
Graphics Card - Powercolor 5700 xt red devil
Memory – 2x Corsair Hyper X Fury 8GB
Storage - 1TB NVMe SSD (Dual)
Power Supply – Corsair RM650
I am utilizing a dual-monitor configuration.
Network Connection – TIME Fiber 1Gbps line, Dlink DIR-882

However, I’ve recently encountered several perplexing difficulties. Allow me to illustrate with a few instances:

1. Within Apex Legends, I periodically receive a “net error code,” indicating a connection issue, despite utilizing a 1Gbps internet line and observing consistent, uninterrupted pinging through the command prompt with no timeouts. My friend residing in the same location does not experience this error. Only I am affected. I’ve attempted all troubleshooting steps recommended by EA, including port forwarding, but without success.

2. In Final Fantasy XIV, I have begun experiencing intermittent freezing issues—the screen will black out momentarily, and the game minimizes before resuming full-screen play until the same problem recurs. These occurrences are sporadic; sometimes, I experience no issues at all. Occasionally, I also become trapped on loading screens requiring forced game closure.

3. In Wolcen Online, I consistently disconnect from the game, while my aforementioned friend remains unaffected.

I am experiencing these connection problems despite showing no issues on ping tests, ping monitors, and other diagnostic tools. I am connected via Ethernet cable with my router positioned directly adjacent to my PC. I have updated my graphics drivers to the latest versions and performed a fresh installation of Windows 10. Temperatures remain within acceptable ranges.

My friend suggested that the problem might stem from my graphics card, so I ran stress tests using OCCT and various 3D benchmarks for roughly six hours, without encountering any errors. I am currently at a loss and uncertain of how to proceed. Due to ongoing restrictions on movement within my country, I’m unable to visit a computer repair shop for diagnostic testing. However, if anyone can offer insights or suggest further tests to perform, I would greatly appreciate it.

PS: Please do not hesitate to request any additional information you may require.

Hello there.

I’ve encountered the identical problem with other games as well!

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you:

1. It might seem unusual, but verify your local area network port’s health. Occasionally, if it's damaged, you might experience intermittent connection issues. Usually, a very brief connection drop—less than a second—can be difficult to detect as a stable connection.

2. Some internet service providers perform well on numerous game servers, while others don't. You might have a solid connection to one game but experience poor internet performance with another. Consider utilizing VPNs or changing your DNS settings – however, ensure you’re using a different internet provider.

3. Try a different network driver! Seriously, it works. I use a Gigabyte card with an app center included software that sometimes interferes with connections, causing it to create a tunnel and block internet access for games like CS:GO, preventing Steam or the game client from connecting. Be sure to uninstall any such software—MSI may have something similar, or not—but it should definitely be present. Something like “Gaming Connection Driver.”

4. Examine your IPv4 and IPv6 configurations. Certain programs can alter connection-related settings, potentially modifying DNS or similar parameters. Newly installed software is often the source of new issues.

Hello, thank you very much for your advice.

1. I’m uncertain about the best way to investigate this, but based on my research, the port appears to be functioning correctly. There are no problems accessing the router’s administrative interface or experiencing disconnections while browsing online. However, this issue specifically arises during gameplay.
2. I'm residing in a rental property and using a different internet service provider for gaming purposes. However, my local online communities haven’t reported any problems with this particular ISP regarding gaming connections. I plan to experiment with a VPN to determine if it resolves the issue. I’ve already switched to Google DNS.
3. I observed that some solutions suggested that custom drivers (specifically, the MSI manager) could be involved. I’ve removed all MSI add-ons and performed a completely fresh Windows installation using standard drivers at their latest version.
4. I didn’t modify any settings prior to this occurring. I used to play without issues for many years. The problem suddenly started recently. It's worth noting that I recently moved to this apartment and am now using a new ISP; initially, for the first few weeks, I didn't encounter any disconnections or crashes. I was able to stream and play successfully during that time, and this reformatting was due to installing various programs.

😀
Unfortunately, the problem persists despite my efforts.

Do you have any further suggestions? I’ll attempt the VPN method in hopes that it resolves this!

It’s disheartening to hear you're still experiencing this problem, but perhaps the VPN will resolve it.

Considering that some games aren’t blocked in my location, and many people I know utilize VPNs to access them, it's worth trying. I’ve recently stepped away from online multiplayer games as I was looking for teammates, so please test the VPN and if it doesn’t work, contact me to explore other options.

Also, experiment with using a different internet connection – perhaps a brief one utilizing your mobile data.

Honestly, my nation doesn’t impose any online limitations whatsoever. Furthermore, since my acquaintance isn't encountering problems, I don’t believe the problem lies with the internet service provider. It’s amusing, though. I began utilizing expressVPN, but I continue to receive the identical error message. Well then.
