As stated above, it depends on the game that you're playing. Most game genres will have a benefit with mouse/keyboard, but there are those that don't in my opinion at all(action adventure like DMC , fighting and racing). And you know what? That's the beauty of the Master Race, you can use what ever with no additional costs as long as you have the hardware.
You mentioned a PC forum and expressed a preference against using a controller, suggesting a wheel instead for racing games. That’s the only thing.
It varies by game; for Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams I use a controller as well as NFS, while FPS titles like CS:GO or CS 1.6 are played with a mouse and keyboard.
