Hi, I'm currently enjoying GTA V with an Xbox One setup using a mouse and keyboard. While I usually rely on the controller for action gameplay, I've noticed it's easier to manage shooting moments without auto-aiming. After spending a whole day adjusting settings, I haven't found the perfect mix yet. I tend to use the keyboard for general control but switch back to the controller when pursued by the cops. Many players share similar experiences, so I'm curious about your preferred peripherals.

I also completed GTA IV using an Xbox 360 controller, but I prefer not to rely on the auto-aim option.

I favor a controller over K&M in about 90% of my games. The only exceptions are LoL, P&C titles, Hidden Object games, or basically any PopCap game. Switch to free aim mode. I really enjoy using a controller in GTA 5. The key is to slow your aiming, similar to sniping in Halo. Move slowly, stay steady, and you’ll land the headshot. If you’re not comfortable with the controller, switch to your mouse—flip it over and aim for heads. Personally, I do this when an MKII lingers nearby. Grab a shotgun, sniper, or my go-to Up N Atomizer and knock them off the bike with one perfect shot. This works with controllers too if you’ve been playing many FPS games for years.

I haven't played GTA V yet, but I usually rely on a controller for most games, particularly action/adventure titles. For racing games I often use an Xbox One controller, while action games like MHW typically require a DualShock 4.

I experienced the same feelings until Apex Legends came out. I had to switch to using a keyboard and mouse to stay competitive online. Of course, I still struggle with mouse and keyboard control, and my movements feel clumsy, but going back to aiming with the joystick was disappointing. I’m willing to give it another shot.
