I'm still trying to wrap my head around this situation. Recently I relocated, and the internet service I used before was excellent. The connection was incredibly fast across all my devices. After switching providers, the speeds remained consistent using a Wi-Fi 6 router or modem. Yet, once installed, the performance seemed significantly reduced. My current plan offers 1 gigabit down and 500 megabits up. However, during tests like SpeedTest, my connection drops to around 150-200 megabits down and 200-250 megabits up on my MacBook, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and Windows 11 laptop. On the Lenovo Legion Y720 gaming PC, downloads are about 180-200 megabits down and 100-150 megabits up. My iPad Pro 12.9" (2018) shows similar results—150-200 down and 100-150 up. A technician using a Dell laptop on Windows 10 reported speeds of 800-900 Mbps down and 900-1,000 Mbps up. It's puzzling since all my devices are updated and drivers are current. There must be something I'm missing about the settings or configurations that affect performance. Have any of you clarified this? Also, if you can simplify things for me, I'd really appreciate it. I've looked online but found little useful advice. Thanks in advance for your help—I'm hoping to resolve this soon.
