I upgraded from an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 5800x with Windows 11. The FTDM service worked fine on the first processor, but later I saw a warning in Windows asking me to enable it. I tried enabling it but couldn't access BIOS. After a restart and updating BIOS, I encountered a black screen after the BIOS prompt, displaying an error about FTDM installation. The keys don’t respond, and I’m unsure if I should reinstall the old CPU or disable FTDM in BIOS. I’ve searched online but haven’t found specific advice for my setup.

I haven't considered it. I was cautious since I learned the encryption key is stored on the Ryzen CPU, which could complicate things further.

BIOS isn't located inside the CPU but in memory, which is why they refer to it as an MB Brick if you install incorrect BIOS. Your keys remain secure. Resetting the CMOS is the only solution, regardless of whether it's good or bad. Remove the battery for proper resetting, and do so carefully using rubber gloves while ensuring the power supply is disconnected.
