Linux amazing but not for gamers someone will say you can use Wine yeah Tried but not smooth like Windows to be honest almost i'm not gamer anymore but I not want move to Linux have a lot Winrar files that linux not support have to convert , but now . will use 2 OS SSD sata for Linux but which Distro I remember I asked about mint they warning me to not talk about in Discord server I become very doubt about mint Mint bad ? spy ? because old posts someone said Ubuntu spying rumor ?
Wine works well for simple window tasks, proton is typically tuned more for gaming. For .rar files, 7zip is a good choice and can be installed on Linux. I personally use Linux Mint and find it easy to use for newcomers, and it’s a smart move to experiment with dual-booting while you learn.
Main setup (for gaming): Garuda Linux paired with Windows 11. Entry-level laptop: MX Linux. Living room PC: Windows 11 Second gaming PC: Fedora. On my primary system I mostly switch between Windows 11, Fedora/Nobara, and Garuda Linux. Right now I’m using W11. My goal is to revert to Linux as the main OS after Plasma 6 arrives next year. For testing distros, I might try Arch-based options like Garuda or EndeavourOS, but I’m also interested in OpenSuse.
