Hi, I've never faced internet problems before. About a month ago, I started experiencing constant issues—randomly I'd play an online game like Rainbow 6 Siege and get disconnected. It happens even when I'm just using a web browser and the load times are extremely slow. My ISP is Midco, and I have their gigabit package, so bandwidth should be sufficient. I've tried everything: checking for outdated drivers, testing if my router is the problem by connecting directly from my modem, contacting the ISP (they seem confused), rebooting everything, using the Windows Internet Troubleshooter, and running only one program at a time. My specs are Windows 10 (latest update), Ryzen 5 CPU, Nvidia GTX 1080 GPU, 32GB RAM, DDR4, Cat6 Ethernet cable, and a gaming PC model MS-7879. Any advice would be greatly appreciated—this is frustrating!

The modem requires a firmware upgrade. After disconnecting, you'll need to reconnect it following the specific steps for your setup. You might have overlooked this, but I'm guessing you're using a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi.

Ethernet usually causes minor issues but should resolve on its own. It might take about an hour before it stabilizes, after which I’ll face random internet slowdowns during games and be removed until things improve.

It seems your online connection stability is being affected. Check for intermittent drops by testing with a steady ping to services like Googles DNS. If the pings fail around the same time as gameplay starts, it likely points to a modem or router issue.

Other uses exist too; I don’t have any additional equipment impacted beyond my PC. I just have my PC and my NAS connected to the same network.

I might reinstall the network driver just to be sure, but if it keeps happening, the next step would be updating or swapping the modem.

My internet connection comes from my ISP, so they might need to fix it.
