VirtualBox is Oracle’s virtualization tool. You can run a Ubuntu environment virtually, without placing it directly on your physical storage. Provide it with a CPU, memory, and other resources, and it functions like a regular Ubuntu system. Because it’s virtualized, you won’t risk damaging your Windows operating system. I prefer Microsoft’s Hyper-V more, though—it only works with Windows 10 Pro, not for home users.
