Hello everyone, I just got my RX 7800 XT and, being a bit impulsive, I tested it on my current rig just to check. I’m hoping for a Ryzen 7 7700 X or a B650 plus with 64GB RAM. So far, it’s running fine, but my GPU usage is around 60% during games at the same settings as my GTX 1660 Ti, and I’m seeing similar frame rates. I’m getting some confusing results though. I’m wondering if it’s because I’m using an AM4 motherboard with an AM4 CPU (5GHz) and the GPU might be limiting performance, or maybe there’s something else going on. Any advice or insights would be super helpful—I really don’t want to waste £420 on this!

There’s no FPS cap configured. Are you maintaining identical adjustments or do you achieve similar performance with enhanced clarity or higher resolution? I’ll need to clarify a few points just to be sure.

I just looked and found Ultra settings in PUBG giving me around 200fps, but it drops to 80-90 for a second and then the game stops. My CPU usage is also at 100, so it seems the AM4 motherboard might be limiting the GPU performance. I’m not sure if it can actually utilize the 32gb/s offered by PCE 4.0, even though it’s an RX 7800 XT. I have no idea why my performance was the same as with my old GPU when using Ultra, but I’m getting a lot less now.
