I tried every trick I could, but my computer won't make a network adapter so I can't use the internet. Even after reinstalling Windows many times, nothing works. My motherboard is an HP P8H61-MX R2.0 and now I am trying to put Windows 10 on it.
You need to put in the drivers that came with your new computer part, or download them straight from the maker's site.
Should I install driver software on Windows 8, but not for Windows 10 because it's already in place?
Take care there. There isn't much else you could do. It's been too long since I tried this, and back then rules were strict if the computer had one version or the other. I don't remember exactly what they were. Just give it a shot if you want to.
Here is the download page for the Realtek drivers: https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-...s-software The manual says what your motherboard needs you should be able to use the Windows 10 drivers on the Realtek site
It's still not working and it keeps saying that the realtek network controller wasn't found. You need to turn off deep sleep mode or unplug and re-plug the cable. Maybe the port isn't working even though you plugged it in. Please try again. I have no idea what to do right now.
I don't know if you need to download the first set of drivers for your specific motherboard and chipset. Once you install those drivers, lots of things show up like USB ports and ethernet connections. Usually, this is just about loading the motherboard drivers that come with the board. The trouble is, can I just load the win8 motherboard drivers on windows 10? If you have already installed the chipset drivers but the ethernet port doesn't appear in device manager, then I don't know what to do. You would probably need to find a driver from intel for that motherboard's chipset that has better support for win10 if it even exists. You are messing with an old motherboard that is almost ten years old, and technology changes way too fast.
