Hi, I need to purchase a new PC case for my younger brother. His motherboard only has a 12V RGB port, which means I can't connect ARGB fans directly. Are there any options available that include RGB fans with color-changing capabilities but don’t require a motherboard connection? Also, I’m looking for something around $120 or less.

It looks like you're looking for a reliable cooler with LED control. I found a suitable option from Cooler Master that matches your needs. You can check it out here: https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/coo.../#!/Cooler Type=RGB Accessories

In the case of @DoctorNick, generally you need one of these options: 1. An ARGB controller linked via USB2.0 header to the motherboard. 2. A self-contained aRGB unit with buttons for selecting preset colors and lighting. 3. An adapter converting ARGB to 12V RGB that also functions as a controller. Option #1 lets you manage colors through proprietary software, offering the broadest range and settings. Option #2 relies on manual button control, accepting factory-set colors and modes. Option #3 suggests using the brand’s software for control, likely with a standard 12V RGB palette, though case quality may vary. For fans included, cheaper generic cases often come with the unit, but their build quality and support are questionable.
