I suspect you're just starting with PCs if you're choosing an operating system. For this, I’d pick either Windows or a Mac. Since I’m not an Apple fan, I’d favor Windows. I handle a lot of professional tasks—video and audio editing, recording bands, converting analog tapes to digital files, etc. I also play PC games via Steam. I choose Windows because some hardware I need for tape capture only works there. Plus, I’ve been using Windows since Windows 98 and it’s what I’m most comfortable with. I don’t have time to get bogged down with Linux or other options. While I don’t always like Microsoft’s product decisions, sometimes community pressure pushes them to adapt. Other times we stick with what works. Generally speaking, tech isn’t always about personal preference—it’s about practicality. If you’re not very familiar with DIY setups, Windows or a Mac would be safer choices. What you plan to use the PC for will really determine which one suits you best. Good luck!
