You need Windows 7 64-bit to run that 8GB RAM setup. Windows 7 32-bit only works with 4GB or less. See the official sites for details.

I understand you need formatting but only for the C disk, correct? Not the D drive where personal files and games are stored.

I was correct in mentioning he would handle Windows 7 32-bit with 8 GB of RAM without any issues. He didn’t inquire about the RAM requirement, which helped prevent misunderstandings.
