This setup seems unusual but technically possible. Connecting your old HDD to the new system could work, though performance might be limited. With 8 GB RAM and Windows 7 installed, it should function, but expect slower boot times and limited multitasking. Based on what I heard, running Windows 32 can only support 4 GB of RAM.

Please note the memory usage will stay within 4GB. I might opt for a 64-bit machine. Also, press F11 repeatedly when starting your new setup to select the boot drive. Good Day!
