He understands it well. If Arch feels too demanding, you can experiment with Arch-based systems like Antergos Linux. It offers a GUI installer with DE pre-installed (Gnome3 by default), along with most standard drivers and various additional features. I used it for roughly a year and now rely on it as my secondary machine.

I've been using Ubuntu for a while now, yet I still prefer CentOS for servers and Mint for my desktop setup. Still, any Linux distribution can be tailored to handle almost any job, except for major gaming titles.

Debian has been a reliable companion for a long time. I experimented with various distributions as a kid, but I still rely on Debian for my server.
