They are limited, isn't it? That's certain. The report shows Linux holding just 1.53% of the market share. These figures are regrettable but true. I haven't used Linux myself.

on the server side, the split is roughly equal between Windows and Linux, though Linux has dominated the supercomputer sector. Android functions closely aligned with Linux as well. Beyond that, there are notable examples such as IoT crockpots, a humanoid robot football team, the ISS, the LHC, nuclear submarines, cow milkers, in-flight entertainment systems, and auto-aiming rifles. Linux has essentially taken over nearly every market requiring an operating system, except for desktop computing. Regarding your poll, I noticed it lacks several less obscure options—please see the link provided.

I favor Arch Linux paired with a personalized desktop called "theShell." It's available on GitHub: https://vicr123.github.io/

These points merely serve as comfort arguments suggesting the operating system isn't robust enough to attract a broad audience. The main issues stem from its fragmentation and limited consumer adoption.

It's quite large everywhere, though it's not optimized for desktop users. It doesn't specifically target them well—around 95% of websites run on Linux, which is a huge number of servers. Also, keep in mind the current iOS and Android market shares.

I don’t care about the US; I could claim North Korea doesn’t use Windows, but that would be superficial.
