It might be due to not playing online. If you enjoy single-player mode, it can feel dull without the excitement of multiplayer.

You should join online games and connect with others, ideally in groups of three to five players. That’s how I discovered the fun of Arma 3.

Do you have A2:OA? If so, there are a lot mods that can make the game much more fun. I mean there must be a reason why A3 and A2:OA/A2 are the third and fourth most played games in my steam library... As the whole Arma series is a military sim at its heart, if you're not interested in realism then you will struggle to enjoy it. I mean even something like battleroyale which is rather fast-paced can feel kinda slow sometimes as once I saw nobody for the whole match until it was only me and 1 guy left. Obviously I killed him and won (only win ) but firing 3 shots in 45mins~ isn't...the most engaging?

It's because the game focuses on military strategy. Most of your actions should involve watching and strategizing your plan. If you rush into combat like in other fast-paced shooters, you'll quickly expose yourself to enemy attacks. Plus, the AI tends to be inconsistent in single-player games.

Arma feels dull, but the developers understand this. That’s why hosting your own server and adding mods is completely free.
