The email from Bill Gates accurately captures the past XP upgrade procedure I recall. Locating the right patch was a frustrating experience. I typically reinstalled it at the end of each school term and backed up thousands of files, just for laughs!

Latest version available, about a year and a half. The manual mentions handling burns.

The issue isn't related to image burn-in. The screen saver fails after playing games.

I've worked with Windows from 2000 to 10. I've used XP, Vista, and several versions of Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. Each OS had its pros and cons—some ran smoothly, others hogged resources or slowed me down. I especially liked the look of Vista but hated how it affected performance. Windows 7 was a big improvement over Vista. Windows 8 became better once you set up shortcuts properly. 8.1 felt similar. At least Windows 10 has a solid start menu. The Anniversary update really helped. I don’t use Edge; Chrome is my go-to. IE 11 is terrible too, which is why Chromebooks seem to be on the rise. The annoying part is how the Action Center defaults push ads. Cumulative updates are probably essential for security.

I ran the test myself using DirectX and OpenGL on the newest insider version (14971). The screen saver activated properly without issues. I don’t have access to the official Windows 10 release for verification.

It's odd how my laptop behaves with the screen saver. I just turn it off after finishing a game. It works with GTA 5 too. I’m sure there are all the latest updates.
