Did you verify the SATA power link? Have you tested a different SATA power adapter? Keep in mind, there are two connectors—one for power (connected to the PSU) and one for data (linked to the motherboard). Both need to be correctly connected.

Serious thanks, I'll check the cables (will order replacements today).

I don't have friends, I've been Autistic all my life, and happy by the way.

To verify power delivery to the Blu-ray drive, press the open/close button and observe if the drawer moves out. It doesn't confirm the SATA interface is active but indicates the drive is functioning. H5D 40 offers a larger sensor area compared to a standard 35mm full-frame camera.

Usually accurate, but a minor misalignment might indicate additional issues, even if the tray lifts.
Simple to verify the correct alignment of both connection styles.

These adapters usually aren't suited for the power needs of an optical drive. They could work with a SATA SSD or HDD instead.
