It could be a PC part, a peripheral, or any random accessory. What upgrades have you installed recently or in the past that truly enhanced your gaming? When Halo First launched, a friend removed the top of his Xbox controller to boost his precision. I did the same, and we played on those questionable controllers for ages. Now that Control-Freeks and similar devices are available, I can’t play without them. The thumb stick is completely useless without them, and since switching, my accuracy has jumped about 40 times. Looking forward to hearing others’ stories.

Switching away from my Mad Catz transformer mouse really helped me get used to using a mouse for shooters. It’s surprising how much easier it was after spending nearly £100 on one.

Recently I upgraded my PC and achieved about ten times the performance compared to before. Before that, installing a Quadro 410 graphics card (GTX 650 chip) on my old system gave my gaming experience a significant boost from "unplayable" to "double-digit frames per second," though that's all I could really say. My peripherals didn't make much difference since I mainly play single-player games.

I have three options that each bring their own pleasure: using a 1080p IPS screen, installing a mechanical keyboard, and getting the G402 (the best idea ever).

The biggest boost came from swapping a plain 8088 with a basic CGA screen to an IBM PS/2 running the 80286 and VGA. That was a massive leap! P.S., keep your distance—I can see you through the grass!

Mad Cats ceased operations recently, likely due to a branding decision. It seems they refer to a mouse name similar to Razor's product line or a generic non-Track-ball model.
