Based on the map and current game events, the optimal choice isn't always clear. The SG allows you to take distant shots and use a solid SMG-style weapon for quickly moving through areas rather than depending solely on a pistol.

Yeah....no, an AK is better if you're not crap at aiming. There's a reason why the SG553 isn't really used competitively (and its not just cost).

Due to inconsistent performance, the spray pattern isn't very effective at full auto, making it suitable mainly for close-range shooting like SMG. It shines only when paired with a scope, which most professionals avoid unless they're using an AWP. I didn’t play competitively, but the 553 and AUG have been used successfully in professional matches occasionally.

I tried the game once and noticed most recent FPS titles use aim assist, so I went for it. I’m not really into CS:GO seriously.
