I visited Bestbuy today and placed an order for a new GPU and monitor, both expected to arrive tomorrow. Choosing the GPU was straightforward; there’s only one 5080 available at the MSRP of $999. PNY’s card is receiving strong reviews, and I’m eager to become a devoted follower. The Asus 4070 has served me well, but I’ve grown tired of my 1440 monitors. I need more details!

I’m looking forward to launching all my games at 2160p tomorrow. After spending an hour last night weighing options, I finally decided on the Samsung Odyssey g8 g80sd for $899. It’s a flat-screen model with a matte finish and comes loaded with apps, though it can swivel into a vertical position. This caught my attention because it feels more like a TV than a monitor.

Both models offer 240Hz refresh rates and a response time of .03 milliseconds. I’ve grown fond of curved screens, so I settled on the Samsung. However, now I’m curious about Display Port. Since I was leaning over the Dell Alienware AW3225QF, I wondered why both brands still use outdated ports—Display Port 2.1 versus v1.4. I discovered that Dell and Samsung are also sticking with v1.4, which made me question whether switching to HDMI 2.1 would help my 4K gaming experience. What cable should I use?

I wasn’t finished yet—I ended up buying an LG 83" OLED C5 TV for $3199 today, a significant discount from retail. It’s been with my 4-year-old for four years, and I’m ready for better brightness. The 4070 is only 18 months old, but it still looks great if you’re interested in sending it to me for a gift.

I also picked up a new Epson printer, a Fitbit watch, and a stylish drone that functions as a flying camera. Christmas arrived early for this young fan.

Sure thing.
I want nothing fancy on my GPU. Straightforward in black and tough too. Runs smoothly, no one has complained about the internet yet.
Yes, they're discussing my situation. Seems like either one or a few others. I don't mind worrying too much about future-proofing my monitor—this one will likely last long after me.
But Display Port 2.1 really boosts the bandwidth and is ready for anything beyond 4K.
