I damaged the GPU safety bracket and the PC isn't starting Windows.
I was attempting to remove the GPU to install an SSD since the SATA drives are located directly beneath it. However, when trying to take it out, it wouldn’t move and I had to use a screwdriver to press the pin, causing it to pop out. Now my GPU isn’t loading Windows. I’m unsure what to do next.
The damaged plastic piece is safe, I had it broken on my previous board three years ago and gave it to my stepson this year—it still functions. It might indicate some wear in the PCie slot or lanes, though. Have you tried inserting the GPU into the other larger slot just to test? Or are you using an iGPU if you have one?
I discovered the issue with my NVMe drive malfunctioning unexpectedly.
