I understand that Event ID 41 refers to a restart without losing power and doesn't clearly point to the underlying issue. This has occurred three times while playing GTA (both story and online) over the past two months. I'm about to play again, and my screen goes black. The audio seems normal when the computer crashes. This is really frustrating. I checked the game files via Steam recently, and they showed no problems, but today I got another 41 error while playing. Most recently, I experienced these two errors at once:

- Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP
- Date: 11/15/2025 11:54:17 AM
- Event ID: 219

Task Category: (212) Level: Warning
Keywords: (8192)
Description: The driver DriverWUDFrd failed to load. Device: ROOT\DISPLAY\0000 Status: 0xC0000365
Event XML: ... (details omitted for brevity)

- Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
- Date: 11/15/2025 11:54:17 AM
- Event ID: 41
- Task Category: (63) Level: Critical
Keywords: (70368744177664),(2)
Description: The system restarted without a clean shutdown. This could result from the system freezing, crashing, or losing power unexpectedly.

Event XML: ... (more details omitted)

Anyone have any idea what's happening or how to resolve this? I'd appreciate your help.

I think you're using the BattlEye kernel level anticheat since playing online. That kind of software often causes these kernel issues. I faced a similar issue with Easy Anti Cheat and resolved it by turning off kernel mode debugging—did this by opening Command Prompt as admin and running bcdedit /debug off, then restarting. Also, disabling virtualization/Hyper-V in your BIOS can improve stability, though you might already have that set to off.

Attempting an update now. The system reported an issue with modifying debugger settings due to a Secure Boot restriction. I’ll turn off Secure Boot temporarily to test the process.

Event ID 41 indicates an unexpected shutdown of your system. This outcome isn't the root issue but rather a consequence. It also occurs during a restart cycle, meaning any alerts appearing simultaneously may lead you astray, as they happen during startup rather than after a crash.

Check Event Viewer for additional issues near Event 41. Watch for Machine Check Exceptions. Determine if the PC eventually restarts or continues to play the sound.

I didn’t notice it before, but the computer restarts completely afterward. I also see a message from Adrenaline saying there was an "unexpected shutdown."
