I received an “asus rog strix rtx 3080 ti LC” some time back, and noticed it had become quite dusty because of my pets. I decided to take it apart for cleaning, which is usually safe. It wasn’t as dirty as I expected. However, when I reassembled it, nothing displayed—both the blower fan and the AIO fans are running but there’s no screen showing anything. The monitor does recognize the GPU, but I’m only seeing “no display.” Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Check if your motherboard shows BIOS status lights. Look for LEDs indicating issues. Consider using an integrated graphics card as a display. Try reseating the GPU and power connectors if needed.

It lacks any signals, though my CPU does have an integrated GPU which isn't perfect because I've turned it off in the BIOS settings. I've replaced the GPU, power cables, and RAM just in case something gets damaged during my adjustments.

Attempted again, though there might be a chance it was affected. It doesn’t appear to be broken or misplaced.

It might have been affected by cat hair or something similar. It's hard to tell for sure. I could test it on another PC too. Possibly the power supply unit is the issue, which is also possible.

That’s the situation—after taking it apart, I didn’t discover anything, so I cleaned it well. All components seem to be linked; the LEDs turn on and the fans begin spinning, but there’s no power coming out.

Consider reinforcing the PCI-e connections with some extra force. Alternatively, try launching it using an iGPU to verify the boot process.

It functioned properly just a few hours earlier when I inserted the 3050, but my 3080 didn’t respond the same way. I was extra cautious this time. (I’ve been assembling and repairing PCs since I was young, so I understand what I’m doing, but I’m still puzzled now.)

It seems something went wrong. Could the board have been fully disassembled? Perhaps clean it with IPA using a microfiber cloth, let it dry, and retest. Note: When checking the 3050, did you use both 6+2 PCI-e cables simultaneously to rule out a power supply problem?
