Hey everyone, I recently purchased what appears to be a faulty motherboard for my PC. The build includes a Ryzen 5 5600 XPG, 16GB RAM, Asrock B550m, ITX/AC, RTX 3060, and a 750W PSU. To troubleshoot, I cleared the CMOS, swapped to an older CPU (Ryzen 3 3100), re-seated everything, replaced the GPU, removed the RAM, and checked the power connections. The motherboard powers all components, but the CPU isn’t receiving proper voltage—its fans spin, but it doesn’t light up. I’m unsure if the board is truly dead, but it seems to be providing power. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
MB HDMI isn't resolving the issue since neither CPU has an integrated graphics unit. The Ryzen 3 3100 works with the standard BIOS update, suggesting the problem might occur during a flashing process. If the EEPROM was partially written with the BIOS file, a JTAG tool would be needed to resolve it (provided the chip isn't defective). This specific model doesn't support AMD FlashBack, though it does offer "Instant Flash" if the BIOS is functional and the GUI remains inaccessible.
The screen was merely in sleep mode and didn’t pick up any input.
Here you are, then it isn't just "allegedly broken." It could be a dead bios chip or a failed PCH part.
