You just finished setting up your PC and are having trouble getting Windows 8.1 to install. You purchased the CD version from a store and are using an external memory drive. Your PC doesn’t have an internal drive, but you managed to boot from the external one. The issue is that when trying to boot, nothing happens and it just jumps back to the BIOS.

What kind of motherboard are you using? On startup, press the designated key to open the boot menu and ensure the legacy boot setting is enabled in BIOS.

I opted for an internal CD drive and left it outside the case until the installation was complete, 8.1. Thanks everyone!
