i have a hp probook 650 g1 equipped with an i5 4300m and integrated hd graphics. i attempted a clean registry cleanup along with removing the display driver, tried installing the latest intel hd driver from the official site, downloaded drivers via device manager updates, but encountered issues during installation. when using the driver from the intel website or hp site, the process completed without errors, though the computer restarts and the driver remains invisible in windows settings. in the device manager it displays basic monitor information and an outdated driver from 2006. resolution remains fixed at 1920x1080 despite a 1hz refresh rate being detected. i suspect this problem likely occurred after installing some hp drivers, but i’m unsure which one caused it. the intel chipset driver might be involved, though i’m not certain. any advice would be greatly appreciated. It’s really frustrating to use the laptop this way with such a low refresh rate, and i haven’t reinstalled windows since a fresh setup two days ago. the process from the ibb link you shared also didn’t resolve the issue.

the issue isn't resolved. I used a driver booster and installed the driver from Intel, but after restarting the system it still doesn't appear. The problem started today. My HP display driver worked fine before, but now I'm trying the latest version from Intel. It failed after restarting again. I've also tried reinstalling from HP's site, but nothing works. There might be something wrong when updating over the existing HP driver.

Turn off driver updates in Windows Update (use O&O ShutUp10). Disable fast boot settings in Power Options. Proceed.

After downloading and trying to install, the process halts with a message indicating the driver installation was blocked due to an action denied error, consistent with my earlier post. This issue occurs with every driver I try to update via Device Manager.

Certain programs (more advanced) require a full system restart, whereas quick boot hibernates part of the system. This is just my suggestion, not a complete fix. Think of it like an insurance policy—just in case you can verify it. For truly effective guidance, timing is crucial ("avoid handling active systems and unnecessary reinstalls or clean installs, particularly if everything functions properly").
