I Can't Disable The Overclocking Feature!
I recently assembled a PC for the first time and used a RoG STRIX B550-F [WiFi] Ryzen 5 3600 with its built-in cooler. I noticed it operates at idle speeds between 55-65!? After trying to boost the CPU fan speed, it only partially helped. I also considered overclocking, checking my settings and finding "AI overclock" enabled by default. When I tried to reset it to default, there was no option to disable overclocking. I'm really puzzled and need guidance.
You might prefer to disable the overclocking feature because what you're observing isn't an overclock but a standard turbo setting that keeps the CPU running at its minimum speed until further demands arise.
You might wish to disable it by turning off the overclocking option. What you're observing isn't overclocking but a standard turbo mode where the CPU operates at its lowest frequency until further adjustments are required. On Ryzen systems, this is referred to as PBO. You can turn it off in the BIOS. The only way to maintain the same frequency is by manually setting the multiplier and voltage, ensuring it stays consistent. If you're experiencing temperature issues, addressing cooling is essential first.
You might need to reduce the cpu voltage slightly. Keep in mind. Check the video here: https://youtu.be/fiqtpKQZPSo?t=381. Also, think about using a higher-quality cpu cooler.
