I've been using a 4x4gb Dominator Platinum rated at 3200mhz for some time. It functions, though my motherboard struggles to exceed 2666mhz with all four sticks. I'm aiming for a 2x8 or 2x16gb setup to hit those speeds needed for the games. The issue is my fully water-cooled system with RGB lighting—once I get two modules, it feels like something's missing in my perception. Would it be possible to turn two sticks into fake modules that still work with the lights on, letting me run them at higher speeds?

I recall Gigabyte experimenting with "dummy" RGB DRAM modules, though it's unclear if it gained traction. This occurred at Computex 2018. It seems MSi, Corsair, and G.Skill may have released or announced comparable products around the same time.

Corsair produces fake RAM modules featuring RGB lighting. The product page links to a description of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro Black Light Enhancement Kit, which includes 2x DDR4 dummy modules with 10 addressable slots.

It might be possible to cover some pins while keeping the Dominator Platinum functional and the white LEDs active. Not aiming for any RGB colors would help maintain the theme.
