I have a PDF file on my laptop that I also emailed to myself and then saved to Files on my phone. When I open the PDF on my phone, I can search within the document for specific words. But when I open the document on my laptop, it doesn't work, showing only 0 results. Any suggestions?

Check if any .pdf apps are running on the phone and laptop. Ensure the file remains a valid .pdf without corruption. Adjust search parameters on the same laptop .pdf document—possibly due to a typo or logic issue. Generate a new .pdf in the same folder as the imported file and run a search there.

Hi, I just reviewed the file on my laptop again. When trying to search for a word, Adobe Acrobat prompts me to use the Scan & OCR feature in Adobe Pro. It's interesting because I don’t have any special app installed on my iPhone that does this. I simply saved the .pdf to the Files folder, opened it, and searched immediately. Was there a built-in option in iOS for this? I’m not sure. I might upgrade to Adobe Pro for a paid version, but I’m holding off. Could there be an online method to perform the Scan & OCR conversion without cost? I haven’t checked yet.

It wouldn't be unexpected if the free version offers restricted features.
The provided Adobe link could be useful.
But the initial format is .jpg, and if your scanned files are in another format, the conversion would differ.
Ensure you back up and isolate any files before proceeding.
Perform conversions on temporary copies only.
Just in case...
