The VPN wasn't initially active, but I accidentally enabled it. After that, the issue disappeared—I was able to connect and then disconnect it without any problems. The internet worked fine with a stable cable connection, but a glitch or bug prevented access until the VPN was used. It turned out the fix came from using the VPN.
