Hi everyone! I bought Arma III during the Steam summer sale, but it feels pretty much the same as Arma II. I understand the engine isn’t optimized well, but there’s definitely something more going on. Here’s my setup: Motherboard – Gigabyte-X79-UP4 CPU – i7-4820k @ 3.7GHz (with H60 cooler) GPU – Gigabyte 3GB 780Ti OC RAM / Memory – 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro Series (2133MHz) Storage – Primary: 2TB SSD, Secondary: 120GB SSD (just copied from Steam) Please let me know if this is related to a poorly built rig or any other factors. Thanks! -Arvnhor

You're focusing on a higher-level fix, not just the hardware. Which approach are you targeting?

Playing in 1080p with matching rendering quality. Frame rate remains consistent (around 20) regardless of high or low settings.

It seems the 20FPS problem is likely related to your graphics card or drivers. With a GTX 660, you can run ArmA III smoothly around 80 FPS on low settings, though it's still not very well optimized.

It's unusual! Here are some things to check: Install the newest Nvidia drivers. Test other tough games like Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, Far Cry 3/4, etc. Notice if FPS remains low even at top settings. Also, use a benchmarking tool such as Heaven: https://unigine.com/products/heaven/ and GPU-Z: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/. This helps monitor your graphics card's temperature and other stats. You can save the data to a file by choosing 'Log to file' in GPU-Z. Use this method to see how your card performs while playing Arma 3.

This tutorial helped me a lot and it also works for DayZ. Arma runs on just about 30% of your GPU and CPU, which means the engine feels older but still functional.

The issue appears to be with singleplayer mode. It's highly unlikely your computer is the source of the problem.

The issue appears more clearly in multiplayer, yet it doesn’t function properly in single-player mode. I’m hoping it’s not a problem with my PC.
