I mostly rely on my PC for gaming CPU: AMD FX™-6300 Six-Core Processor and GPU: Radeon RX 5500 XT. I recently purchased a new GPU hoping it would significantly improve my frame rate, but the results were minimal. My main concern is whether my CPU is limiting performance, if so, what advice would you give?

Your current CPU is limiting your GPU performance significantly. How much are you willing to spend on a replacement CPU?

When you launch your Radeon software, it shows several new CPUs you can upgrade to. At the top is the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X with 16 cores priced at $700. You’re seeking an option that’s more affordable while still improving your gaming performance.

Walmart doesn't carry the Ryzen 5 3600 series. They mentioned not having them when I asked. It's possible they weren't aware of the product.

Consider opting for an R5 3600 setup. It will need a new motherboard and RAM replacement. You might find a B450 compatible, though future processor support isn't confirmed—B550 is safer. You can work with the original cooler, but a dedicated cooler such as the Hyper 212 could boost performance during overclocking. DDR4 RAM is usually available, but aim for at least 3200MHz since this model supports that speed.
