I can assist you with overclocking your I5 4670K.
My setup details are as follows: motherboard gigabyte GA-Z97-Gaming 3, intel i5-4670k processor, planned gpu asus-dual-gtx1070-o8g, fsp hyper 600w power supply, 4x4gb kingston hyperx furry ram, and a coolermaster 212 evo cooler. The room temperature without air conditioning is around 32°C. For light overclocking, what voltage and multiplier should I use? I’m fine with a 4.2ghz clock speed and just want to avoid any surprises. Also, i’m a bit concerned about the power supply and don’t have much budget for a new one. Thanks for your advice.
Check the temperature and stability after overclocking with Prime using your PSU model. Determine the appropriate testing duration for stress testing.
At high speeds, the CPU-Z and hardware monitor indicate Vcore between 1.155 and 1.180, temperature around 40°C, stress test at 79°C, using a Hyper 212 Evo, should I be concerned? What maximum overclock can I achieve? Also, why is the multiplier on CPU-Z under load showing x36 (8-38)? Is this related to turbo boost? I haven't tried any OC yet and plan to buy the Corsair CX650m next month.
