Hello! Your recent CPU purchase sounds exciting. It seems the motherboard might be restricted due to being a prebuilt system. The B450 slot should accommodate a Ryzen 5 5500, but you're encountering boot issues. Have you tried checking the BIOS settings or ensuring the RAM is properly seated? Clearing CMOS and updating the BIOS are good steps, but sometimes a hardware swap or a fresh motherboard installation resolves these problems. Let me know if you need more guidance!

Reviewing the prebuilt downloads page shows the newest BIOS version as dated November 2, 2020. The R5 5500 was released in April 2022, so it’s unlikely to appear unless a newer release is added. You might need to consider the R5 5600X instead.

No BIOS update has been released for the ASUS GL10DH to accommodate the R5 5500. The latest BIOS was updated on November 2, 2020—just three days before the 5000 series was even released. This suggests it might not support any Ryzen CPUs from that generation. You may need to reach out to the manufacturer to check for newer updates. If not available, consider using 3000 series chips unless you also replace the motherboard.

However, the 5600x is part of the 5000 series, similar to the 5500 model, which could affect compatibility
