Since it's a portable device, I believe the temperatures are within normal ranges. The main concern is using a laptop continuously around the clock. These conditions aren't ideal for such operation.

A laptop isn't designed for continuous operation. Temperatures stay acceptable during regular use, but prolonged 24/7 strain could harm the components after a week, month, or year. NASes and servers are built to handle constant workloads and have been validated for such conditions.
