I can assist with Windows 10 issues. What do you need help with?
My Windows 10 system became corrupted and I made a bootable drive to reinstall. During setup I received a warning that Windows can't be installed on this drive because it might fail soon. I dismissed the alert and kept going, then it told me Windows 10 would restart but when it did, I got a recovery error indicating a repair is needed (error code 0x00000185). I tried reinstalling Windows 10 multiple times, but the same issue persisted. I suspect the hard drive might be failing, though it’s only been about a year since I bought my PC and I’m unsure why this is happening. Please let me know if you have any advice.
It looks like your hard drive might be having issues. Where did you purchase this computer? Some brands or individuals often repurpose used drives into newer systems.
I purchased this PC from SMC International in New Delhi, which is one of the most reliable stores there. Perhaps I’ll seek repairs from them once lockdown ends. There’s also a chance they might offer a free replacement since the warranty isn’t up. Also, can I enjoy solid gaming with Windows 10 on a pen drive?
You qualify for the warranty—take action soon before it ends. A free replacement sounds ideal, but likely just a repair.
