since windows is quite intelligent, you should download the drivers from another computer, save them on a USB stick, and then install them using that drive. linux has handled this issue for quite some time, but windows still has its challenges.

It relates more to the LAN chip than Windows. If you have a special LAN chip such as Killer, you won't be covered by PnP drivers. You can still use the disk.
